Type Locality and Naming

By native Kakyrs (ephemeral), upper reaches of the left tributary of the Aidynsay. I.A. Kim et al., 1987, previously identified as layers by A.I. Kim. Stratotype of the Kakir Fm is located.

Synonym: Kakyr Suite, Какирская св.


Lithology and Thickness

Light gray, massive, thickly and unevenly bedded biomorphic limestones. Thickness 90-117m.

Eifelian age is determined by brachiopods Schizophoria striata (Schlott.), Clorinda pseudolinguifera Kozl, Uncinulus parallelepipedus Bronn., Vagrania (Vagrania) kolymensis Nal., Atrypa devoniana Fent. et Fent., Desquamatia totaensis Khod. and others; trilobites - Proetus lazutkini Tchern., P. peetri Tchern. and others; conodonts - Polygnathus parawebbi Chat., P. trigonicus Bischoff. et Ziegler, P. angusticostatus Wittekind, P. robusticostatus Bischoff. et Ziegler.


Age 

Assigned to the Eifelian of the Middle Devonian. V.S. Korsakov et al. (1993), in the monograph (165) and on the State Geological Map-500 of Uzbekistan (460) considered them Eifelian of the Middle Devonian.
